U.S. United Ocean Services believes in developing their team members
We are continuously developing and upgrading our in-house training programs. Our training programs have been designed to take qualifying entry level team members such as Ordinary Seaman and Wipers as well as those further along and offer them an opportunity to advance. Several of U.S. United Ocean Services Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers began as unlicensed crewmen aboard United vessels. Furthermore, we don't believe development of our seagoing managers stops once you have reached either Master or Chief. We offer continued training to our vessel officers to improve their managerial and people skills. In this manner, we ensure qualified managers on our vessels and viable candidates for shoreside positions if required. Many of United's shoreside managers began their careers at sea. Here at U.S. United Ocean Services, we encourage and support your commitment to advance your career with our company.
Once you complete the review period and receive an endorsement from your Captain or Chief Engineer, you may be eligible for optional training. A large portion of your training, for either acquiring or upgrading a US Coast Guard endorsement or license, will be covered within our training package.
Our training programs include these benefits (after a six-month review period)
